Community Invited to Chula Vista Bayfront Park for Free “A Day at the Park” Event

The Port of San Diego invites the community to attend “A Day at the Park: A Port Experiences Series” event at Chula Vista Bayfront Park. The free family-friendly event is scheduled for Saturday, June 14, 2025, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.

“We’re excited to welcome the community to spend a day at Bayfront Park and discover the wonders of the Chula Vista Bayfront,” said Port Vice Chair Ann Moore, Chula Vista’s appointee to the Port of San Diego Board of Port Commissioners. “It’s an opportunity to enjoy amazing views of the bay and the brand-new Gaylord Pacific Resort & Convention Center, while enjoying free music, delicious food and fun activities with family, friends and neighbors.”

This is the second “A Day at the Park” event hosted by the Port in 2025. The multicultural celebration will feature local performers, artists, food vendors, and kid-friendly activities such as face painting, mini golf, inflatables and more. Attendees are welcome to bring their own picnic blanket or lawn chair and spend the day at the park enjoying the festivities.

About “A Day at the Park”
The “A Day at the Park” event series is sponsored under the Port of San Diego’s Tidelands Activation Program (TAP) in the Expanded Access Events category, which aims to improve public access to under-activated Port parks via a Port-funded and Port-branded community event. TAP is an annual grant program that sponsors large and small events that engage the community and inspire visitors to enjoy San Diego Bay.

About the Chula Vista Bayfront
Chula Vista Bayfront Park is one of four public parks on the Chula Vista Bayfront. The three other parks include the brand-new, 39-acre Sweetwater Park, Bayside/Harbor Park (Bayside Park is doubling in size and will become known as Harbor Park), and Marina View Park. The new Sweetwater Park and Bayside/Harbor Park are part of the 535-acre Chula Vista Bayfront redevelopment. In partnership with the City of Chula Vista, the Port of San Diego is transforming the Chula Vista Bayfront into a world-class destination in the South Bay for residents and coastal visitors to enjoy. The first phase of the Chula Vista Bayfront redevelopment includes Sweetwater Park, the newly opened Gaylord Pacific Resort & Convention Center, the Sun Outdoors San Diego Bay RV Resort, and the Bayside-to-Harbor Park expansion.
