A Community Treasure
Picked by locals as one of the top 30 open spaces in San Diego this 5-½ acre park adjoins the Sweetwater Channel and welcomes adults and families alike to play and explore San Diego Bay through water recreation and aquatic-inspired activities. From colorful play equipment, a convenient boat launching ramp and a well-equipped fishing pier with lighting for night fishing - there is something for everyone!
Do you want to host a public or private gathering or any organized activity at Pepper Park?
As we welcome the community to enjoy the newly redeveloped Pepper Park, permits for private events are temporarily on hold. The Port anticipates opening the Service Portal for new applications on June 1, 2026, for events occurring on or after July 6, 2026*.
During this time, the public is welcome to visit the park and use all its amenities. Please remember that groups of more than 25 people or any activities that include alcohol or outside service providers, like jumper rentals, on-site catering services, equipment rentals, etc. require an event permit.
If you are interested in holding a public event at Pepper Park, please contact Parks & Recreation at parkpermits@portofosandiego.org or 619-725-6001.
