Free Parking
The Port of San Diego has approximately 3,000 free public parking spaces in various locations around San Diego Bay and along the Imperial Beach waterfront within our member cities of Chula Vista, Coronado, Imperial Beach, National City, and San Diego.
These spaces are available for visitors to enjoy at no cost!
Please see posted signs for park closure times and parking time limits.
Port parks are closed from 10:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. and do not allow overnight parking.
In public areas and streets where parking time limits are not posted, the maximum time limit to park is 72 hours.

Oversized Vehicle Regulation
No Parking of Oversized Vehicles at Shelter Island, except in the ten (10) designated Oversize Vehicle spaces along Shelter Island Drive.
Oversized Vehicles are defined as those vehicles: Twenty (20) feet in length, OR Seven (7) feet in width, OR Seven and one half (7 ½) feet in height.
No Parking
Between 1 a.m. to 5 a.m., vehicles may not park within designated spaces.
Head in Parking
Drivers are required to park vehicles facing forward in parking lots and street parking with exceptions for designated yellow boat trailer spaces.
Vehicles with Boat Trailers
Designated parking for vehicles with attached boat trailers is identified in yellow.
- Includes but not limited to boats and/or boat trailers, including jet skis and/or jet ski trailers used to convey a boat or jet ski.
- The maximum length of a boat trailer is 45 feet long for both vehicle and trailer.
- These parking spots have a 72-hour limit.
- Port parks are closed from 10:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. and do not allow overnight parking with the exception of yellow marked boat trailer spaces.
