San Diego Bay Online Boating Reservations

boatsskylineSan Diego Bay is a recreational haven that attracts boaters from all over the world. To make the bay more accessible and enjoyable, the Port of San Diego provides temporary anchorage areas for boaters.

The Port has established an online reservation service.

Boaters may choose from anchorages or guest docks.

  • Anchorages are a maximum of 72-hour reservation. There must be a 24-hour gap before applying for another permit.
  • Guest docks allow you to stay 15 days in a 40-day period. The docks are located at the southwestern end of Shelter Island.

Reservations were accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Baja Ha-Ha

The Port of San Diego has set aside a free special event anchorage for the Baja Ha-Ha fleet's exclusive use. This anchorage is available only to non-San Diego County boats; and will be open to officially-registered Ha-Ha entries from October 1 through November 1 annually.

Upon arrival, Baja Ha-Ha boaters are to call the San Diego Harbor Police Mooring Office at (619) 686-6227, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday (closed on alterate Fridays), to register before proceeding to the special anchorage. You must provide your vessel name, Doc or CF number, owner's name and entry number, and a contact phone number.

The anchorage coordinates are: 32° 40. 8' N, 117° 9.9' W.
