Circulate San Diego is the Port of San Diego’s Anchors of Excellence awardee for October. The San Diego-based nonprofit organization is honored for its continued service to the public in the areas of transportation and connectivity. Port Chair Danielle Moore presented the award at the October 14 Board of Port Commissioners’ meeting.
"The Port of San Diego is proud to honor Circulate San Diego with our Anchors of Excellence Award,” said Chair Danielle Moore, Port of San Diego Board of Port Commissioners. “Circulate San Diego has been dedicated to creating excellent mobility choices and healthy neighborhoods, which has transformed how our region thinks about transportation and land use. Their advocacy, planning, and community engagement have given us safer streets and more sustainable travel options, which make San Diego a cleaner, healthier, and more connected place for everyone.”
Circulate San Diego is a nonprofit focused on sustainable transportation and equitable land-use development. They continually advocate for transit-oriented housing policies, Vision Zero traffic-safety strategies, and data-driven pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure improvements. Through planning, stakeholder engagement, and legislative advocacy, the organization reduces vehicle miles traveled, lowers greenhouse gas emissions, and enhances regional connectivity and public health outcomes.
“Circulate San Diego is honored to receive the Anchors of Excellence Award from the Port of San Diego,” said Colin Parent, Chief Executive Officer and General Counsel for Circulate San Diego. “For more than 25 years, we have worked to create excellent mobility choices and vibrant, healthy neighborhoods across the San Diego region. From expanding access to public transit, to making our streets safer, to supporting sustainable growth, we are grateful for this recognition and proud to partner with the Port in building a more connected and inclusive San Diego.”
