The Port of San Diego is pleased to welcome Carnival Cruise Line as the official cruise line sponsor for the 2026 Port of San Diego Big Bay Boom. Carnival will support event promotion and have a presence throughout all Big Bay Boom programming.
“We are excited to have Carnival join us for the 2026 Big Bay Boom and to have their support in commemorating this milestone Independence Day,” said Chair Danielle Moore of the Board of Port Commissioners. “Along with our spectacular fireworks display over San Diego Bay, we are looking forward to joining Carnival and our community in honoring our military service members and celebrating the country’s 250th anniversary.”
Complementing Carnival’s sponsorship, guests sailing over the holiday on Carnival Radiance, Carnival Firenze, and Carnival Luminosa will have a special opportunity to view the fireworks show as the ships will be anchored near San Diego Bay. They will join the nearly half a million spectators expected to watch the Big Bay Boom across San Diego Bay and along the waterfront.
“We’re honored to be part of such a historic milestone and iconic event in San Diego,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line. “Being the exclusive cruise line sponsor of the Big Bay Boom gives us a meaningful way to celebrate our connection to this community, to our military families and to the patriotic spirit that defines Fourth of July.”
The Port recently announced San Diego Fleet Week Foundation as the official non-profit partner for the Big Bay Boom fundraising efforts. In addition to the Port’s own contribution and Carnival’s sponsorship, the event is mostly funded by charitable grants and donations from organizations, small businesses, corporations and individual sponsors.
The 2026 Big Bay Boom is set for Saturday, July 4, 2026, and planning for the West Coast’s largest Fourth of July fireworks show is underway. The community can visit bigbayboom.com for additional sponsorship opportunities and future updates on next year’s program.
