Matt Vespi joined the Port of San Diego as Chief Administrative Officer in November 2025 bringing more than two decades of public sector experience. He leads the Port’s Commissioner Services, District Clerk, Executive Office, Human Resources, Information Security, and Information Technology departments and teams.
Prior to his role at the Port, Matt served with the City of San Diego for 14 years in various roles including finance, risk, public utilities, and more. Before coming to San Diego, he worked in finance in the public and private sectors in Central Florida.
Matt holds a master’s degree in business administration and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Central Florida.
Matt lives in the Ocean Beach area with his wife, Kendall, and their two sons. Outside of work, he enjoys time on the water either surfing or fishing, and coaching his sons’ sports teams.
