Check it Out! Upgraded Signage Details Around the Port

San Diego Bay is a vibrant destination to live, work, and play. To ensure everyone who explores our waterfront feels welcomed and has a strong sense of place and community, we have been actively working to produce visual cues and signage that extends this story throughout every touchpoint.

From our walkways and pathways to our regulatory and directional advice, here are a few signage upgrades to enjoy along San Diego Bay.

Creative Crosswalks

No stone went unturned! Careful flow analysis was taken in exploring how visitors and guests move throughout our waterfront. For example, for those who enjoy Port walkways and pathways, our crosswalks feature a colorful gradient that mirrors our own distinct Port color story.

The depicted crosswalk can be found along the entrance to Harbor Island, and it pays homage to San Diego Bay through shades of Tidelands Teal and Deep Water. In addition to providing a colorful welcome to a stroll, its vibrant design also works to encourage safety by providing guidance and visibility for those crossing roadways.

The Story of our Waterfront and More

Finally, to engage and delight those who are exploring our bay, upgraded interpretive signage is being placed throughout our waterfront. From highlighting our avian neighbors and marine wildlife to art and innovation, each of the newly developed signs highlights the personality of each locale and gives viewers context to the remarkable ecosystem that is San Diego Bay.
