Konoids & Kenneth Capps
The “Konoids” sculpture was created in 1984 by San Diego artist Kenneth Capps. It represents a style of art called Minimalism, which means it is made of basic shapes and forms, using a simple color palette.
About the Artist
Kenneth Capps was born in 1938 and earned two degrees at UC San Diego. His artwork can be found at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Museum of Contemporary Art, San Diego, and right here at Bayfront Park in Chula Vista.
How did the Konoids get here?
This artwork was commissioned by the Port of San Diego, with approval from the Board of Port Commissioners and the Arts, Culture & Design Committee.
