Port of San Diego Invites Community to Enjoy “A Day at the Park” at Bayfront Park in Chula Vista

The Port of San Diego invites our neighbors and visitors to “A Day at the Park: A Port Experiences Series” event at Bayfront Park in Chula Vista. The free, family-friendly, fun event is scheduled for Saturday, June 29, 2024, from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. It is the culmination of a three-part series at Port parks along the San Diego Bay waterfront.

“The Port of San Diego is thrilled to invite the community to join us at Bayfront Park in Chula Vista to celebrate the final ‘Day at the Park’ event this year,” said Commissioner Ann Moore, Chula Vista’s appointee on the Board of Port Commissioners. “As we come together against the backdrop of stunning bayfront views and our nearly complete hotel and convention center, we can celebrate with music, art, tasty food, and much more!”

Bayfront Park is at 980 Marina Way, Chula Vista, CA 91910 – Exit at J Street. A free accessible shuttle service will be available for attendees at the Chula Vista Library-Civic Center Branch, located at 365 F Street, Chula Vista, CA 91910. The shuttle will run from 11 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Carpooling is encouraged, and free on-site parking is available.

Guests will be able to enjoy performances from a variety of local artists, local food vendors, kid friendly activities, and so much more!

This series of events is sponsored under the Port of San Diego’s Tidelands Activation Program in the new Expanded Access Events category, which aims to improve public access to under-activated Port parks via a Port-funded and Port-branded community event. The Port’s Tidelands Activation Program (TAP) is an annual grant program that sponsors large and small events that engage the community and inspire visitors to enjoy San Diego Bay.

The “A Day at the Park” series celebrated its inaugural event on May 18 at Pepper Park in National City, followed by a second event at Cesar Chavez Park in Barrio Logan on June 1.
