Board of Port Commissioners

Danielle Moore

Chair

Commissioner Danielle Moore was sworn in to the Board of Port Commissioners on March 16, 2022, following her appointment by the San Diego City Council. A native San Diegan, Commissioner Moore brings over a decade of legal experience and a career defined by cross-sector collaboration, community engagement, and a deep understanding of the intersection between policy, people, and progress.

Earlier in her career, Commissioner Moore represented renewable energy project developers, owners, and operators in project development and M&A transactions. She has led negotiations for complex commercial contracts and financing agreements to support sustainable infrastructure—reflecting her enduring commitment to a clean energy future and a belief in the power of public-private partnerships to shape lasting impact.

In her capacity at the Port, Commissioner Moore is actively engaged in regional efforts that span economic development, climate resilience, and inclusive growth. She brings a steady and strategic approach to governance, working to align long-term vision with the immediate needs of Port tenants, residents, and regional stakeholders. Her leadership reflects not only her legal training but also her deep respect for public service and the communities the Port serves.

Beyond her role with the Port, Commissioner Moore remains committed to civic involvement and leadership development. She has served on the boards of Cleantech San Diego and the San Diego Regional Economic Development Corporation—two organizations at the forefront of shaping the region’s innovation economy and environmental future.  She has also served on the board of The New Children’s Museum.

Commissioner Moore is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., a graduate of the Howard University School of Law—where she was a Merit Scholar—and a graduate of Stanford University, where she received the Stanford Alumni Association’s Award of Merit for her longstanding volunteer leadership. She is also a mother and advocate for education, equity, and opportunity, especially for underrepresented communities.
