The Port of San Diego’s Green Business Network has received an Honorable Mention in the Stakeholder Education, Awareness and Involvement category in the 2017 American Association of Port Authorities’ Environmental Awards. The Port, along with three other Ports, was recognized during the awards luncheon on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017, at the American Association of Port Authorities’ 106th Annual Convention and Exposition in Long Beach.
“The Port of San Diego champions the safekeeping of the environment and we want to encourage others to do the same,” said Port Chairman Robert “Dukie” Valderrama. “Through our Green Business Network program, we are able to educate our tenants and help them make changes to reduce their environmental impact. By working as a team, we can make San Diego Bay a greener place to live, work and play.”
