Cruise the Big Bay on the Bow Wow Brunch Cruise

Hornblower Cruises & Events invites you and your pooch to the 2nd annual Pet Day Bow Wow Brunch Cruise on San Diego Bay.

The cruise is this Sunday, Oct. 3 from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Boarding begins at 11 a.m at the Grape Street Pier, located across from the County Administration Center.

"The Bow Wow Brunch Cruise was pioneered last year and it is the first of its kind in San Diego," said Rebecca Milkey, marketing director of Hornblower Cruises and Events. "The event really is something to see."

Pet owners will be treated to brunch, champagne, mimosas and desserts. In addition, Petco is sponsoring a buffet of puppy treats and pet products for your dog's delight.

You can take a special outing with your dog to raise money and awareness for orphaned pets that are cared for at Helen Woodward Animal Center. The center is a non-profit organization devoted to humane care and adoption of pets. It also provides education and therapeutic programs for pet owners.

"The funds raised help support Helen Woodward Animal Center programs, including pet adoption, humane education for children and therapy services for animals and people in need, " said John Van Zante, public relations manager for Helen Woodward Animal Center.

"Please come and join us," Milkey said. "It is fun to have everyone out there for this event. Especially if you love to pamper your pooch."

This year, there will be a celebrity appearance by Chopper the Biker Dog and Bobby Gorgeous, America's Best Dressed Dog for 2009.

The cost is $73.95 per person plus tax and gratuity, and your pup cruises free. Adults are limited to one pet and they must be on leash.
