Cruise for a Cause with Hornblower Cruises & Events on San Diego Bay

Shop, dine and dance with Hornblower Cruises & Events at the 5th Annual San Diego Style Cruise on Thursday, Oct. 15, to benefit the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer campaign.

KyXy 96.5 and Sophie @ 103.7 FM will set the mood as passengers enjoy the sunset cruise on the Inspiration Hornblower, offering a 360-degree view of downtown San Diego and the Big Bay.

The evening will showcase unique boutiques with fashion, food, make-up and jewelry. There will be opportunities to receive exclusive discounts, win drawings or participate in a silent auction. Local singer Eve Selis and her band will also take the stage at 7 p.m. as a special treat for all onboard.

Rebecca Milkey, director of marketing for Hornblower Cruises & Events said, “Creative ideas and strong partnerships with media like KyXy, Sophie FM and Hornblower are key in helping American Cancer Society. Nonprofits are in trouble just like profit-making businesses. About 75 percent have been hurt by the economic downturn. Their fundraisers have to come up with novel ways of bringing in cash. We have a fun idea with Cruise for a Cause and we hope to have 1000 people turn out!”

Passengers may arrive anytime between 4:30 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. for the two-hour cruise, which leaves at 6:30 p.m. from the Grape Street Pier, 1800 N. Harbor Drive (map). Tickets are $10 with all proceeds going to the American Cancer Society.
