There were 24 arrests this week. Four people were arrested for drunken driving and nine people were arrested for being drunk in public. Three people were arrested on outstanding warrants and one person was arrested for violating a court order. Arrests were made for transporting, being under the influence, and possessing a controlled substance. In addition, arrests were made for resisting an officer, trespassing, possessing a deadly weapon and petty theft.
At San Diego International Airport, Harbor Police responded to four sick/injury calls. One person under the influence of alcohol was taken to Scripps Mercy Hospital. The other three had minor injuries and did not require additional medical attention.
There were eight K9 reports. At San Diego International Airport, three unattended luggage bags and a vehicle were searched with negative results. On the corner of North Harbor Drive and Ash Street, a bag was searched with negative results. In the 2700 block of North Harbor Drive, a vehicle was searched with negative results. On San Diego Bay, a vessel was searched with negative results. In addition, in the 800 block of Kettner Boulevard, a suspicious item was searched with negative results.
Crime reports included the theft of a passport, an iPad, cash, a bicycle, and other personal property. Near The Fish Market Restaurant, a person pushed another person off a bicycle. In addition, at Hilton San Diego Bayfront, a person was cited for trespassing.
At San Diego International Airport, miscellaneous reports included abandoned ammunition and guns at various checkpoints and one person failed to complete the screening process. In addition, there were reports of a missing employee identification card, a wallet and a driver license.
Citations were issued for a number of infractions. Drivers were cited for possessing an open alcoholic container, failing to obey traffic signs, speeding, having a broken head or tail light and not signaling during a lane change. Drivers were also cited for driving without a license, having an expired registration, having tinted windows, making an unsafe turn, driving without lights at night time and driving the wrong way on a one-way street. One person at San Diego International Airport was cited for possessing a knife at a checkpoint and one person was cited for possessing less than one ounce of marijuana. On San Diego Bay, a person was cited for not having life vests on the vessel. Near Sharkey's Bait Shop on Shelter Island Drive, one person was cited for harassing animals. In addition, at Hilton San Diego Bayfront, a fire alarm was set off and one person was cited for possessing less than one ounce of marijuana.
There was one traffic collision report. A driver hit a car and drove away.
On San Diego Bay, near Shelter Island, there was a report of a diesel spill.
Near the Bali Hai Restaurant on Shelter Island, one person was reported missing.
