malcolmat ctpeventThe Port of San Diego recently completed a public works project that redesigned the children's playground at Coronado Tidelands Park with major accessibility improvements. With "universal design" features, this project goes beyond compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to an even higher level of access for children and adults, making it one of the region's most accessible playgrounds.

Universal design is the design of products and environments to be usable by all people, to the greatest extent possible, without the need for adaptation or specialized design.
