Port of San Diego to Host South Bay Holiday Open House

Port to host community open house
The Port of San Diego is hosting a free, community open house at the Aquatic Center in Pepper Park.

The Port of San Diego invites the public to enjoy a free community open house at the Aquatic Center in the Port’s Pepper Park on Wednesday, December 11, 2019. This fun, informative event will include photos with Santa and holiday treats while also giving the community an opportunity to explore the center and learn about upcoming Port projects.

Event details: Wednesday, December 11, 2019, 6 to 8 p.m. at the Aquatic Center, Pepper Park, 3300 Goesno Place, National City, 91950

Holiday treats and refreshments will be available, as well as free giveaways and an appearance by Santa! Families are encouraged to attend and have photos taken with Santa.

Attendees will also get a sneak peek of an upcoming mural concept by artist DAAS, a muralist based in Florida and Japan. His work is focused on imagery that combines representational, cubist and abstract elements resulting in recognizable forms such as humans, animals and insects. His artwork is colorful and lively, utilizing traditional paints and sprays. Information on DAAS’ upcoming project will be on display and an exclusive video profile of him will be shown.

This event is part of the Port’s Arts & Culture programming, which focuses on creating a vibrant waterfront destination with innovative artworks, cultural programming and activation events that enhance the visual excitement and cultural richness of Port areas. With a permanent collection of more than 70 public artworks and a dynamic curatorial plan focused on contemporary pop-up exhibitions, there is art for everyone to experience around San Diego Bay.
