Port of San Diego to Host Community Job Fair on May 29

The Port of San Diego is hosting a job fair for opportunities with maritime industry-related businesses, as well as the Port’s Harbor Police Department, the National City Police Department and United States Coast Guard Sector San Diego. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, May 29, 2019 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the National City Aquatic Center at Pepper Park, 3299 Tidelands Avenue, National City, CA 91950.
The job fair is being held in conjunction with the Port’s Maritime Month activities. Maritime Month is the region’s unique celebration of National Maritime Day on May 22, which is a day to pay special tribute to the merchant marines and to the benefits that the maritime industry provides to the country.
Maritime business at the Port of San Diego includes cargo, cruise, shipbuilding and ship repair, and commercial fishing. Together these businesses provide approximately 13,400 jobs and $2.7 billion in economic impact to the region.
