Free Parking for Labor Day at Port of San Diego Meters and Pay Stations – Time Limits Still Enforced

The Port of San Diego reminds the public that public parking meters and pay stations along the San Diego Bay waterfront will be free on Labor Day, Monday, September 2, 2019. While parking will be free, the Port will be enforcing posted time limits to help encourage turnover and allow public access to the bayfront. Time limits are posted in each area on the meters and pay stations and vary by location. For example, time limits are three hours in most areas and four hours in Spanish Landing Park and along the Crescent area of N Harbor Drive (from just north of Laurel to the Grape Street Piers).

The Port has ten parking holidays on which parking is free at pay stations and meters: New Year’s Day (January 1), Martin Luther King Jr. Day, President’s Day, Cesar Chavez Day (March 31), Memorial Day, Independence Day (July 4), Labor Day, Veterans’ Day (November 11), Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day (December 25). Time limits will be enforced on all free holidays.

Currently, the Port of San Diego has meters and pay stations at approximately 1,200 parking spaces at Shelter Island, Spanish Landing, the Embarcadero, Tuna Harbor, Ruocco Park, Embarcadero Marina Park North and Embarcadero Marina Park South. There are various other parking options as well. Learn more at portofsandiego.org/parking.
