Architectural and Mapping Services

Architectural Services

Within A&MS, Architectural Services reviews tenant improvement proposals for planning and aesthetic conformance with Port District policy and staff criteria. Ranging from signs, minor equipment installation and remodeling projects to major redevelopment proposals on individual leaseholds and within District buildings, tenant improvements are also assessed for further environmental and coastal processing. In general, if a tenant project requires a city building permit, the project will require prior District approval. A&MS maintains detailed records of tenant improvement projects.

Mapping and Geographic Systems (M&GIS)

Two A&MS staff reviewing a map.Within A&MS, M&GIS supports the District's operating divisions. M&GIS prepares lease plats and legal descriptions, and provides data assistance to other District departments and outside consulting engineering firms. In addition, M&GIS continually prepares updated base and inventory maps of all leaseholds and improvements on leaseholds for usage by other departments and the general public. M&GIS also coordinates the Geographic Information Systems.
