Notice of Preparation for Proposed Sunroad Harbor Island Hotel EIR

The San Diego Unified Port District has prepared a Notice of Preparation (NOP) of a Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the Sunroad Harbor Island Hotel. Comments regarding environmental concerns will be accepted until 4:00 p.m. on January 20, 2009.

The project, as proposed by Sunroad Asset Management, Inc., is a limited service hotel on East Harbor Island. The hotel would consist of up to 210 rooms, limited meeting space, common areas, and surface parking. The project would also include removal of the existing traffic circle and realignment of the road and lease lines. The open space use currently located at the traffic circle would be relocated to a public promenade and overlooks. The full NOP, including a project location map, is provided below.
