Sunroad Harbor Island Hotel

Sunroad Asset Management, Inc. is proposing a limited service hotel on East Harbor Island. The hotel, totaling approximately 117,000 square feet, would consist of up to 175 rooms, limited meeting space, common areas, and surface parking. The project would also include removal of the existing traffic circle and realignment of the road and lease lines. The open space use currently located at the traffic circle would be relocated to a public promenade.

Environmental Document for Harbor Island Hotel Project Released

The Port of San Diego has released the icon Final EIR (14.05 MB) report for a proposed 175-room hotel planned for the eastern end of Harbor Island. A public hearing on the proposed project will be held May 10, 2011 at the regular Board of Port Commissioner’s meeting.

The final environmental impact report is an environmental planning document that summarizes the possible environmental impacts of constructing the hotel.

Draft Port Master Plan Amendment Prepared for East Harbor Island

The Port of San Diego has prepared a draft Port Master Plan Amendment for the East Harbor Island subarea of the Port Master Plan. The PMPA is a guide for the future development and redevelopment of eastern Harbor Island.

The draft PMPA will add public access opportunities to East Harbor Island and allow for the implementation of a proposed project. The project includes development of a 175-room hotel, and reconfiguration of a portion of eastern Harbor Island Drive and the traffic circle at its terminus.
