Welcome to the Real Estate section. The Port has some 600 tenants with an extensive array of businesses surrounding San Diego Bay. These businesses include hotels, marinas, restaurants, shipyards, manufacturing enterprises and more.

Role
The Real Estate Department provides development and asset management services for the Port’s Tideland Trust properties. Real Estate’s responsibilities include partnering with the District’s member cities and stakeholders in the negotiation and planning of major real estate development projects, project management, property acquisitions, appraisal preparation, feasibility studies, lease negotiations, rent reviews, conducting ongoing market analysis, marketing available properties, plan reviews of proposed tenant development projects, and administering and enforcing tenancy document and other types of agreements.
Real Estate also produces lease plats and legal descriptions for all Port tidelands parcels and maintains detailed records of tenant project improvements and utility easements.

Point Loma Seafoods Celebrates Grand Reopening after $2.7 Million Makeover

Point Loma Seafoods, a family-owned and operated business that has been on the San Diego Bay waterfront since 1955, has a new look – and is holding an event to show it off.
The long-term tenant of the Port of San Diego will be celebrating its grand reopening at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2012. The event will be held at Point Loma Seafoods, 2805 Emerson Street, in the America's Cup Harbor of San Diego's Shelter Island community.
Construction to Begin on New Bay Tour Operator Facilities

Construction is scheduled to begin at the end of this week on two new bay tour facilities on San Diego's North Embarcadero.
Port tenants Flagship Cruises & Events and Hornblower Cruises and Events will be relocating to new facilities which will be constructed just south of Broadway Pier. The move is primarily to minimize conflicts with cruise ship operations, but will also make improvements associated with the North Embarcadero Visionary Plan Phase I beautification project.

Port to Discuss Exploring Uses of South Bay’s Pond 20

The Board of Port Commissioners will consider approval of an agreement between the Port and the cities of San Diego and Imperial Beach to explore uses for a 95-acre parcel in the South Bay.
The area, known as Pond 20, is located at 1400 Palm Avenue, at the eastern entrance to Imperial Beach on the north side of Palm Avenue between 13th and 16th streets. It is an area that many consider to be the gateway to South County's beaches.

Important updates on the status of the South Bay Power Plant demolition and remediation project will be presented to the Board of Port Commissioners at its Tuesday, Dec. 13 meeting. The meeting begins at 1 p.m. in the Port's Administration Building Board Room, located at 3165 Pacific Highway, San Diego.
The presentation is expected to be one of the first items to be heard.
