Parking Options Available for North Harbor Drive During Construction

Construction on the North Embarcadero Visionary Plan Phase I project will soon be kicked into high gear.
The project will transform the San Diego bay front along North Harbor Drive from Navy Pier to the B Street Pier and along West Broadway from the railroad tracks to North Harbor Drive.
Currently, San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) is working on relocating and improving its underground utilities to pave the way for moving North Harbor Drive to the east to allow more room for a pedestrian promenade.
SDG&E's work extends along the east side of North Harbor Drive, from the Navy Pier north to Ash Street, and on West Broadway, from North Harbor Drive east towards Pacific Highway. SDG&E is currently working on North Harbor Drive from Navy Pier north to the Holiday Inn on the Bay, located at 1355 North Harbor Drive (map).
The utility relocation and upgrade is expected to continue through February. Most work is being performed during the day and all streets are open to traffic. SDG&E has posted traffic control signage.
Despite the construction, parking is still available along the North Embarcadero waterfront. The Port of San Diego has 187 public parking meters along North Harbor Drive. Additionally, 142 Port meters have been added to the east side of the Lane Field parking lot, located on the block bordered by Pacific Highway, West Broadway and North Harbor Drive. The public parking meters will allow two-hour parking.
The Lane Field parking lot, operated by Five Star/Ampco System Parking, provides 590 hourly and all-day parking stalls. The entrance for both the all-day and two-hour metered spots is on Pacific Highway.
In addition to the Lane Field and on-street parking, other parking options for the area include the following paid surface lots and garages:

The Port of San Diego was created by the state legislature in 1962. Since then, it has invested $1.7 billion in public improvements in its five member cities – Chula Vista, Coronado, Imperial Beach, National City and San Diego.
The port oversees two maritime cargo terminals, two cruise ship terminals, 17 public parks, the Harbor Police Department and the leases of more than 600 tenant and sub tenant businesses around San Diego Bay.
