Citizens Advisory Committee
A Citizens Advisory Committee for the North Embarcadero Port Master Plan Amendment was formed with the goal of including input from a diverse community group. Members include representatives from environmental, business, design and public interest organizations, as well as three at-large members.
The group meets twice a month to assist the Port in its long-term planning process for San Diego's North Embarcadero.
The Port of San Diego has tasked the North Embarcadero PMPA Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) with providing input, suggestions, and recommendations to Port staff regarding future development of the North Embarcadero waterfront.
At the CAC Meeting on April 14, 2011, the CAC developed overarching design principles for Port staff to consider in regard to planning constraints, open space, circulation,sustainability, transportation priorities, and parking.
At the CAC Meeting held on May 11, 2011, the CAC developed overarching design principles related to parking and low cost accommodations.
At the CAC Meeting held on June 1, 2011, the CAC developed overarching design principles related to open space opportunities at Grape Street, the Wharf (the waterfront area west of Harbor Drive, opposite the County Administration Center), and at Navy Pier.
At CAC Meeting #6 on June 15, 2011, the CAC developed overarching design principles related to the Grape Street piers and piazzas, in addition to development and access considerations at Grape Street.

At CAC Meeting #7 on July 6, 2011, the CAC developed overarching design principles related to access and transportation, as well as public open space activation.
