May 18 Citizens Advisory Committee Meeting Rescheduled

Labels: Press ReleasesNews

The Port of San Diego’s Citizens Advisory Committee on the future development along the North Embarcadero will meet on Wednesday, June 1, 2011.

The time and location for the meeting will be announced later. The postponement was to allow the port staff time to find a new location for the meeting. Topics scheduled for discussion at the next meeting include proposals for a Navy Pier Veterans Park, a park at the G Street Mole, parking management and bicycle plans and a bay front shuttle.

The committee, which was scheduled to meet on Wednesday, May 18, 2011, is a cross-section of citizens who have volunteered to provide recommendations to the staff of the Port of San Diego for what features should be included in the North Embarcadero Port Master Plan Amendment, a planning guide for the future development.

The Board of Port Commissioners will consider the recommendations, along with input from the public and port staff, in deciding what developments should be included in the master plan amendment.

The committee has been meeting since March 16. The Port Master Plan is a guide for future port development and to ensure that developments within the port are consistent with the California Coastal Act.

Members of the committee include representatives from environmental, business, design and public interest organizations, as well as three at-large members.
