Performance

A Rising Tide at the Port of San Diego

  • Maritime revenues have more than tripled over the past decade
  • Overall tonnage has increased approx. 3 million tons per year
  • Vehicle imports and exports are up to approx. 500,000 units per year.

Enhancements such as a new 20-acre refrigerated container facility, a state-of-the-art cold storage facility, a 1,025-foot wharf extension and recent dredging to deepen waterways within San Diego Bay have all contributed to a steadily growing tide of cargo business at the Port of San Diego.

These factors, along with a steadfast commitment to quality and specialized service have earned San Diego's port recognition as a superior Southern California gateway. They are also why nine major automobile manufacturers use San Diego as their primary port of entry, and why Dole fresh Fruit Company selected San Diego as its newest West Coast Port.

The Port of San Diego's Operation and Trade Development staff are dedicated to focus on each customer's individual needs.

Add to all of these San Diego's location at the center of burgeoning international markets, and the outcome is a maritime cargo destination where quality service is expected, satisfaction is guaranteed and business thrives.
