thumb_cruiseradiancewesterdamFour cruise lines that serve the Port of San Diego are inviting Southern Californians to experience beginning and ending a cruise from the Big Bay®. Carnival, Celebrity Cruises, Holland America and Royal Caribbean are offering deals on cruises with port calls to the Mexican Riviera, eastbound Panama Canal and the Hawaiian Islands. Fares are as low as $499, and many packages include incentives and complimentary vouchers for shopping and dining.

"The cruise lines are united under San Diego's Carefree Vacations, one of the West's Super Regional retail travel agency chains," said Rita Vandergaw, director of Marketing and Cruise for the Port of San Diego. "With reduced pricing and added perks, Southern Californians are invited to experience the ease and comfort of departing and returning on a cruise from San Diego."

The Port of San Diego was formed in 1962 by an act of the California State legislature to take a regional approach to managing San Diego Bay and its waterfront. The Port's member cities are Chula Vista, Coronado, Imperial Beach, National City and San Diego. Today the Port carries out its mission by serving as an environmental steward for San Diego Bay, an economic engine for the region, a provider of community services and amenities such as public art, parks, and community events that open the waterfront to everyone; and a leader in public safety and homeland security.
