Arrests: 13

There were 13 arrests this week. Three people were arrested for drunken driving and one person was arrested for being drunk in public. One person was arrested for possessing a controlled substance, three people were arrested on outstanding warrants and two people were arrested for resisting an officer. In addition, three people considered a danger to themselves or others were taken to the county's psychiatric hospital.
Harbor Police responded to four sick/injury calls. At San Diego International Airport, two people suffered minor injuries and did not require additional medical attention. On San Diego Bay, one person suffered a broken nose. In addition, one person in the bay appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. Both people were taken to Scripps Mercy Hospital.
There were six K9 reports. At San Diego International Airport, an unattended box was searched with negative results. Three unattended luggage bags were searched with negative results and a vehicle was searched with negative results. In addition, on San Diego Bay, near Buoy 14, a vessel was searched with negative results.
Crime reports included the theft of a bag, jewelry, two luggage bags and other personal property. At San Diego International Airport, a passenger died on an arriving flight and another passenger was reported to be unconscious aboard another flight. At Embarcadero Marina Park South, someone sprawled graffiti on the men's bathroom stalls. Near the San Diego Convention Center, someone broke a car window.
At San Diego International Airport, miscellaneous reports included abandoned ammunition, knives and guns at various checkpoints. One person failed to complete the screening process and one person was reported wandering throughout the airport. One person was filming departing flights and a plastic bag with a small amount of marijuana and a marijuana pipe were found in two rental cars. In addition, there were reports of a missing employee identification card, watch, passport, credit card, debit card and two driver licenses.
Citations were issued for a number of infractions. Drivers were cited for driving an unregistered vehicle, possessing an open alcoholic container, having a broken head or tail light, having an expired registration and speeding. Drivers were also cited for using their cell phone while driving, running a red light, making an unsafe lane change, having an obstructed license plate, not having a front license plate, having front tinted windows and following a car too close. In the 2400 block of North Harbor Drive, one person was cited for standing in the middle of the street. At San Diego International Airport, one person was cited for possessing a knife and one person was cited for possessing a baton at a checkpoint. In addition, there were numerous reports of possession of less than one ounce of marijuana.
There was one traffic collision report. The accident was caused by speeding.
A dumpster at the USS Midway Museum caught on fire and San Diego Fire Department personnel quickly extinguished the fire.
