There were 19 arrests this week. Three people were arrested for drunken driving and eight people were arrested for being drunk in public. Three people were arrested for possessing a controlled substance, one juvenile was arrested, and one felon was arrested for possessing a weapon. In addition, arrests were made for trespassing, vandalism and being in a park after closing hours.

Harbor Police responded to three sick/injury calls. One person considered a danger to self or others was taken to the county's mental hospital. At San Diego International Airport, two people suffered minor cuts. Neither person required additional medical attention.

There were two K9 reports. At San Diego International Airport, a vehicle was searched with positive results. Also, another vehicle was searched with negative results.

Crime reports included the theft of an airport sign, a gun, tools, and other personal property. There were also multiple reports of stolen personal property from vessels on San Diego Bay. At Embarcadero Marina Park South, someone broke a parking meter. Near Ruth's Chris Steak House, a vehicle was scratched and a car near Shelter Island was vandalized. At the Boathouse Restaurant, someone broke into a car. At the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina, someone fraudulently used a credit card. In addition, a body was found floating face down in San Diego Bay.

At San Diego International Airport, miscellaneous reports included abandoned ammunition, guns, and knives at various checkpoints. A Southwest Airlines pilot was reported as possibly being intoxicated and there was a disturbance report made at an Alaska Airlines ticket counter. Near North Harbor Drive and West Laurel Street, one person was cited for violating a restraining order. And there were multiple reports of missing money and other personal property.

Citations were issued for a number of infractions. Drivers were cited for having a broken tail light, having an expired registration, running a red light, having an open alcohol container, speeding, driving with a suspended license, and failing to obey traffic signs. Drivers were also cited for driving an unregistered vehicle, throwing a cigarette out the window, using their cell phone while driving, making an illegal u-turn, and having a defective windshield. One person at Embarcadero Marina Park South was cited for unlawful camping, and at Embarcadero Marina Park North, one person was cited for being in the park after closing hours. In addition, two people were cited for possessing less than one ounce of marijuana.

There was one dive report. A stolen vehicle was submerged in San Diego Bay and the area was searched for evidence. There was one report involving environmental pollution near Silver Strand and Avenida De Las Arenas in Coronado.

One missing person report was filed. A missing juvenile was located and returned to its home.

The Harbor Police is the law enforcement arm of the Port of San Diego. The Harbor Police Department provides law enforcement, homeland security and marine firefighting services on San Diego Bay, at San Diego International Airport and along the tidelands within the Port of San Diego's jurisdiction

The Port of San Diego was created by state legislature in 1962 and is responsible for $1.7 billion in public improvements in its five member cities: Imperial Beach, San Diego, Coronado, Chula Vista and National City.

The Port District oversees two maritime cargo terminals, two cruise ship terminals, 17 public parks, the Harbor Police Department and the leases of more than 600 tenant and sub tenant businesses around San Diego Bay.
