There were ten arrests this week. One person was arrested for being drunk in public and one person was arrested for drunken driving. Five people were arrested for outstanding warrants and one person was arrested for possessing a controlled substance. One juvenile was transported to juvenile detention and then released to his cousin. In addition, one person was arrested for making a death threat.
Harbor Police responded to eight sick/injury calls. Three people suffering from a mental illness were taken to the hospital. At San Diego International Airport, one person complained of being in pain, one person suffered back pain, and another person suffered several cuts. The three people refused or did not require additional medical treatment. One person, however, had cuts to the eyebrow and was taken to UCSD Medical Center. At the Hilton San Diego Bayfront Hotel one person suffered a knee injury and was taken to Scripps Mercy Hospital.
There were three K9 reports. At Poway High School, Harbor Police assisted the San Diego Sheriff's Department with a bomb threat, which had negative results. An unattended van at La Mesa Police Department was searched with negative results, and near the Hotel del Coronado, a VIP motorcade was searched with negative results.
Crime reports included the theft of a briefcase, wallet, and other personal property. Near H&M Landing, a person grabbed a woman by her neck and pushed her into the water. Also, at San Diego International Airport, a person did not pay the cab driver.
At San Diego International Airport, miscellaneous reports included abandoned ammunition and knives at various check points. One person opted out of screening and one person had a large amount of money from his luggage confiscated by federal authorities. One person had a seven inch knife at a Delta checkpoint. In addition, there was a report of possible criminal threats. Near the B Street Cruise Ship Terminal, one person was reported in possession of nine marijuana cigarettes. There were numerous reports of missing property including two wallets, three employee identification badges, and an American Airlines visitor badge.
Citations were issued for a number of infractions. Drivers were cited for speeding, blocking an intersection, driving without a license, having an expired registration, and not having proof of insurance. Drivers were also cited for using their cell phone while driving, not using their seatbelt, and for failing to obey traffic signs. At San Diego Marriott Marquis & Marina, someone was cited for trespassing. Three people were cited for staying past closing hours at Embarcadero Marina Park North. One person was cited for possessing an undersized lobster and one person was cited for having an unregistered vessel, both on San Diego Bay. Two people were cited for possessing less than one ounce of marijuana. In addition, one person was cited for not picking up after his dog defecated and one person was cited for urinating in public.
There were six traffic collisions. One person ran a red light causing an accident. One accident was caused by unsafe backing and another was caused by an unsafe lane change. Another accident was caused by a drunken driver. In addition, a fuel truck backed into another vehicle and a gate closed on a vehicle.
There was one incident involving fuel spills. In the 2500 block of Laning Road, there was a fuel spill, which caused a vehicle to catch on fire.
At San Diego International Airport, a missing person report was made. The person did not arrive for a flight from San Diego to Seattle, Washington.
