There were seven arrests this week. Two people were arrested for burglary and one person was arrested for possessing burglary tools. There were three arrests for misdemeanor or outstanding warrants. One person was arrested for obstructing an officer.
Harbor Police responded to six sick/injury calls. One person considered a danger to self or others was taken to County Mental Health. One person reported having sore ribs was taken to Mercy Hospital. Three reports were made at San Diego International Airport. One person suffered several cuts and bruises and another person reported having ankle pain. Neither person required additional medical attention. One person passed out and refused to be transported to the hospital. Near Hornblower Cruises and Events, a person jumped off a vessel and was taken to UCSD Medical Center for coldness and bleeding.
There were two K9 reports. Near the Hilton on East Mission Bay, a vessel was searched with negative results. At San Diego International Airport, unattended luggage was searched with negative results.
Crime reports included the theft of an engine from a boat near Island Palms on Shelter Island Drive. At the Bali Hai Restaurant, someone cut the lock on the front door. In addition, a person's badge was reported stolen from his wife's purse near Ruth's Chris Steak House on North Harbor Drive. At the Maritime Museum of San Diego, museum property was reported stolen. And, there were numerous reports of missing or stolen personal property.
At San Diego International Airport, miscellaneous reports included abandoned ammunition, as well as abandoned metal knuckles, sparklers, and fireworks. A suspect was reported having two firearms at the Southwest Airlines ticket counter. A wedding ring and an Ohio driver license were reported missing, and a suspicious woman was reported wandering in Terminal One. There were reports of passengers opting out of screening and there was a report of a verbal disturbance between a passenger and a Transportation Security Administration screener. In addition, a person walked through an emergency door into a restricted area. There were two reports of missing passports and employee identification badges. One gram of methamphetamine was found on the passenger side seat of a Harbor Police Department vehicle, and a person hit a vehicle and ran away near North Harbor Drive and West Laurel Street.
Citations were issued for a number of infractions. Drivers were cited for running a red light, speeding, failing to obey traffic signs, having a broken head or taillight and not having proof of insurance. Drivers were also cited for driving with an open alcohol container and using their cell phone while driving. At Embarcadero Marina Park South, three people were cited for smoking. Citations were also issued for operating a pedicab on the sidewalk and operating a pedicab without a valid driver license. Two people were cited for possessing less than one ounce of marijuana. In addition, a person was cited for having a 15-inch baton at a checkpoint at San Diego International Airport.
There were four traffic collisions. One was caused when a driver opened the door, which interfered with traffic. A person unsafely backed up, hit another vehicle, and ran away. The other accident also was caused by an unsafe movement.
A diesel spill was reported near Admiral Kidd Club and a telephone bomb threat was phoned into the San Diego Marriott Hotel & Marina.
