Harbor Police Blotter: Sept. 23-29, 2009
There were 19 arrests this past week. Five were for being drunk in public, five for driving under the influence, three for outstanding warrants, three for parole violations and one each for being a danger to themselves, domestic violence and using unauthorized account information.
Harbor Police officers responded to seven sick/injury calls. Most of these involved patients with minor injuries. Four of them were taken to local hospitals for further treatment.
The K-9 team was called out to search an unattended computer scanner that was left at the airport. There was also a request to assist San Diego police in a search for explosives in the parking garage of a downtown condominium.
Three marine assist calls were responded to. Two involved vessels that were not properly anchored. A third call involved suspected illegal immigrants on a vessel in San Diego Bay.
There were 16 crime reports. These included several car break-ins, stolen luggage at the airport, two reports of stolen property at the San Diego Marriott Hotel & Marina, and various vandalism reports.
Nineteen miscellaneous reports were filed. Many of these were for lost personal items such as wallets and drivers licenses. There were several reports of abandoned ammunition at the airport and a minor accident involving a US Airways loading vehicle and a Department of Homeland Security vehicle at the airport.
In addition, the Harbor Police issued 62 citations. Most of these were for traffic violations. Others included urinating in public, drinking in a Port park and littering.
