Harbor Police Investigators Seek Witnesses To San Diego Bay Boating Accident

Harbor Police investigators are looking for witnesses to the December 20, 2009 boating accident that killed an 8-year-old boy and injured at least five people on San Diego Bay.

The accident occurred when a U.S. Coast Guard vessel was involved in an accident with a civilian recreational boat during the annual Parade of Lights holiday boating festival. The incident occurred shortly before 6 p.m. off Harbor Island near Tom Ham's Lighthouse. 

The Harbor Police Department has jurisdiction over accidents in San Diego Bay. It is asking anyone with information about the accident to please call (619) 686-6272.
