Development Requirements
Port SUSMP
The Port of San Diego Standard Urban Stormwater Mitigation Plan (SUSMP) is a requirement of the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit (Order No. R9-2007-0001). The Port SUSMP has been developed to address post-construction urban runoff pollution from new development and redevelopment projects that fall under "priority project" categories.
The goal of the Port SUSMP is to develop and implement policies to reduce pollutant loads into San Diego Bay. All new development and significant redevelopment projects that fall into one of the categories listed in the SUSMP are subject to its requirements.
