North Embarcadero Visionary Plan Construction Update: July 13, 2012

on .

view3Construction of utilities and a new roadway necessitate a complete closure of West Broadway between Pacific Highway and North Harbor Drive, as part of the North Embarcadero Visionary Plan (NEVP) Phase I project. This closure will be in effect for 24-hours a day and continue until mid-September.

Because construction can affect travel times, it's important to review the latest issue of the NEVP construction update.

The project will make improvements along the San Diego bayfront from the former Navy Pier north to the B Street Pier and along West Broadway, from the railroad tracks west to North Harbor Drive. Construction broke ground on January 5, 2012.

The public can also be notified of construction updates via email subscription.

About the Port:

The Port of San Diego is the fourth largest of the 11 ports in California. It was created by the state legislature in 1962. Since then, it has invested millions of dollars in public improvements in its five member cities – Chula Vista, Coronado, Imperial Beach, National City and San Diego.

The port oversees two maritime cargo terminals, two cruise ship terminals, 17 public parks, the Harbor Police Department and the leases of more than 600 tenant and sub tenant businesses around San Diego Bay.

The Port of San Diego is an economic engine, an environmental steward of San Diego Bay and the surrounding tidelands, and a provider of community services and public safety.
