Port Announces New Director of Environmental and Land Use Management

JasonGiffenThe Port of San Diego is pleased to announce the hiring of Jason H. Giffen as its Director of Environmental and Land Use Management.

Giffen most recently served as the Director for the San Luis Obispo County Department of Planning and Building, since September 2010. With a budget of more than $11 million, and a staff of 90, he directed a range of programs including environmental planning, long-range planning, economic development, energy issues, building inspections and code enforcement.

Port's Green Business Network Getting Greener

GBN Logo Nametag 21A first-of-its-kind sustainable business network launched by the Port of San Diego is continuing to help Port businesses improve their energy efficiency and sustainability goals.

The Green Business Network, now in its third year thanks to continued support from San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E), has grown from 49 members – participating in the 2011 Green Business Challenge – to 70 waterfront businesses who continue to demonstrate a commitment to sustainability in 2013.
