The yacht club is located at 1631 Strand Way in Coronado. Coronado is one of the Port of San Diego’s five member cities.

Members of the public, organizations, and governmental agencies are encouraged to attend the July 12, 2011 meeting of the Board of Port Commissioners where a public hearing on the amendment will be held. The meeting starts at 1 p.m. in the Board Room at 3165 Pacific Highway.

The Board will consider the proposed changes in the port’s master plan and can either adopt it with or without modification.

  • A 5,000-foot long pedestrian promenade
  • A pocket park with public art
  • Additional public parking
  • Extension of the bike path

To comply with the California Coastal Act (Section 30712), the port has issued a Notice of Completion and Public Hearing of the draft PMPA. The public, interested organizations, and government agencies are encouraged to review the PMPA and submit testimony, statements, and evidence relative to the draft PMPA at the public hearing, or in writing prior to the hearing.

Written comments should be submitted to the attention of the District Clerk, San Diego Unified Port District, P.O. Box 120488, San Diego, CA 92112-0488.

A companion document, the final Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the Coronado Yacht Club Redevelopment & Port Master Plan Amendment Project, will also be considered by the Board of Port Commissioners for certification on July 12, 2011.

The environmental impact report is an environmental planning document that summarizes the possible environmental impacts of the project.
