Notice of Preparation of Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the Coronado Yacht Club Redevelopment Project

The San Diego Unified Port District has prepared a Notice of Preparation of a Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the Coronado Yacht Club Redevelopment and Port Master Plan Amendment Project.

The proposed land side improvements include demolition and reconstruction of all landside improvements, including: the clubhouse, junior sailing facility/flag head building, multi-purpose room and lawn function storage building, maintenance shop and yard; and construction of an additional 42 parking spaces. The proposed water side improvements include the expansion and reconfiguration of the existing marina and the addition of 108 boat slips.

Comments regarding environmental concerns of the project will be accepted until 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2009. A public scoping meeting regarding the scope and content of the proposed EIR will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2009 at 4 p.m. at the Coronado Yacht Club, located at 1631 Strand Way, Coronado, CA 92118.
