This is a great thing. How wonderful would it be to get several pairs of birds doing this all over the tidelands? The Nesting Poles are however much taller than the 10-15' stated in the article. I hope that the young bird will be tagged and banded for tracking. Has anyone thought about putting up Owl Boxes at the Terminals or at other area of the Tidelands?

Fresh water levels in Southern California have dropped significantly. If you go to http://www.bewaterwise.com, you’ll see how far our water reserve levels in Southern California have dropped. Yes, water conservation has become very important, considering the growing problem of water shortage. Hence Water Agencies are coming up with rebate and incentive programs on water efficient devices to encourage people to conserve water. I think that the Port should not ONLY look at themselves to become GREEN But they shoud also become an empowering advocate to help out and encourage other Businesses as well to do thier part to "Go Green" What we need right now is for the BIG Powerfull and Influencial Players Like the PORT to not only lead by example but support the efforts of the smaller companies to start coming over to the GREEN Side!!!!

I am originally from southwest Louisiana and now living in San Diego. My wife and I were so looking forward to having a large plate of crawfish this weekend. I’m not really into Zydeco music or dancing but really wanted some of the food which is hard to come by around here. I'm not sure who put on this event but I wanted somebody to know that I am absolutely shocked and saddened with the prices of the "Gator by the Bay Festival". It sickened me to find out that if my wife and I were so committed to eating crawfish for lunch the total would have cost us $69 for two plates. $15 parking $20 ticket (wife) $20 ticket (me) $14 @ what I can only assume would be no less than $7 a plate for the boiled crawfish. $69 total I find it most unfortunate that I cannot afford these prices to enjoy a tiny bit of my heritage. I hope in the future the spirit of festival will be considered with regards to prices.

Well, we spent a LOT for the rush passport for the trip to Mexico as advised by the Carnival cruise line. I am willing to stay on the revised cruise, but I think there should be an on-board credit to cover the cost..
