to the Port of San Diego
One of the Port of San Diego’s key goals is to enhance and sustain a dynamic and diverse waterfront, while protecting the Tidelands Trust resources. This requires an important balance of economic benefits, community services, environmental stewardship, and public safety on behalf of the citizens of California.
This section contains updates on construction of the new Port Pavilion on Broadway Pier, a multi-use facility. Jaynes Corporation, is the contractor for the project. Designed by Bermello Ajamil and Partners, Inc., the 52,000-square foot cruise ship terminal will be a Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED)–certified building.
Construction is estimated to cost $21.1 million and is scheduled for completion in December 2010.
Key Points:
- Multi-use facility that will serve the public as a space for events and gatherings
- Cruise Ship Terminal that will accommodate 2,600 passengers
- Shore Power System
- Designed to be the Port's first "green" building (photovoltaic system, reflective roof paint, low-flow toilets, urinals and faucets)
