Port to Host Public Information Session on North Harbor Drive Realignment Project

Project area is located near America’s Cup Harbor

The Port of San Diego will host a public information session on a project to realign the portion of North Harbor Drive adjacent to America’s Cup Harbor on Thursday, November 8 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Training Room of the Port’s Administration Building, 3165 Pacific Highway.

The meeting will be conducted in an open house style, where the public can stop by anytime during the session. Proposed plans and timelines will be on display and Port staff and project consultants will be on hand to answer questions.

Plans for the North Harbor Drive Realignment Project include realigning the North Harbor Drive corridor between Scott Street and Nimitz Boulevard. Objectives of the project include making the area safer for pedestrians, enhancing its accessibility to persons with disabilities, increasing available parking and making the area more aesthetically appealing by adding landscape improvements.

Construction for this project is expected to begin in July 2008 and will take approximately six months to complete. KOA Corporation is the design consultant and the total project cost is estimated at $4 million.
