The project located at 2701 North Harbor Drive, is being administered by the Port of San Diego. The project advances the goals articulated in the Port District’s mission statement: “While protecting the Tidelands Trust resources, the Port will balance economic benefits, community services, environmental stewardship, and public safety on behalf of the citizens of California.”

On August 4, 2009, the Board of Port Commissioners certified the Final Environmental Impact Report; adopted Findings of Fact and Statement of Overriding Considerations; adopted a Mitigation Monitoring and Reporting Program; directed filing of the Notice of Determination; and authorized issuance of the non-appealable Coastal Development Permit for the project.

The Final Environmental Impact Report for a project to demolish the former Teledyne Ryan property at 2701 North Harbor Drive is complete and is now ready to go before the Board of Port Commissioners for certification.

   

Draft Environmental Impact Report Released for Demolition at Former Teledyne Ryan Industries

The Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for a demolition project at 2701 North Harbor Drive in San Diego is now available for public review. The report addresses probable environmental effects from the demolition project, including air quality, biological resources, cultural resources, hazardous materials, water quality, land use and planning, noise, traffic circulation and other factors.

The demolition project, to be administered by the Port of San Diego, includes the removal of approximately 50 structures on a 46-acre site near San Diego International Airport. The project site was previously used for aviation manufacturing facilities operated by the former tenant, Teledyne Ryan Industries (also known as Allegheny Industries), from 1939 to 2002.
